Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro was born on February 5, 1985, in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. From a young age, he showed exceptional talent for football, playing for local teams until, at the age of 12, he left home to join Sporting Lisbon’s academy. His sacrifice and discipline soon paid off when, in 2003, Manchester United signed him after an outstanding performance in a friendly match against the English club.

 

Under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson, Ronaldo evolved from a young prospect into a superstar. He won his first Ballon d'Or in 2008 after a brilliant season in which he led Manchester United to win the Premier League and the Champions League. His speed, technique, and goal-scoring ability made him one of the most feared players in the world.

In 2009, Real Madrid paid €94 million for his transfer, making him the most expensive signing in history at the time. At the Spanish club, Ronaldo experienced his golden years, setting historic records and winning four Champions League titles, four Ballon d'Or awards, and becoming the club’s all-time top scorer. His rivalry with Lionel Messi defined an era in world football.

In 2018, after nearly a decade at Real Madrid, he joined Juventus in Turin for €100 million. In Italy, he continued to demonstrate his quality, winning league titles and standing out as the team’s leader. Then, in 2021, he briefly returned to Manchester United before moving to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia in 2023, embracing a new challenge in his career.

With the Portuguese national team, Ronaldo has been an undisputed leader. He won the 2016 UEFA European Championship and the 2019 UEFA Nations League, establishing himself as his country’s all-time top scorer. Throughout his career, he has broken countless records and remained an example of dedication, discipline, and ambition.
